DESIGN CASE STUDIES

A comprehensive collection of project case studies showcasing end-to-end strategic design across EdTech, FinTech, Biotech, and other sectors.

Road2College

I provided Design Strategy and hands-on artifact creation for a startup focused on helping college hopefuls search for schools, identify the best fit, and ensure they were getting the best financial deal. I designed the Road2College search tool, a tool for comparing financial aid offers, as well as other experiences across the product and marketing suites. You can view an in-depth Road2College Case Study Here.

Health Insurance Startup

I designed the v1 product for a health insurance startup with a flagship product aimed at insurance brokers. These brokers have clients with unique needs and constraints, given that they are all individuals who are either on Medicare or need to switch to it. Searching for plans and packages is highly complex, as are client management and communications. This startup provides brokers with the ability to search plans, build package and get realistic estimates easily.

I was the sole designer on this project, working closely with the product owner, CTO and developers, delivering strategic input,  wireframes & prototypes, high-fidelity mocks and even some front-end UI.

Game of Thrones Mobile Companion App

An Oldie but Goodie! HBO partnered with Microsoft to create a mobile app that enabled viewers to dig into storyline & character details – all while watching the show. The app was connected to realtime data streams, so the default content in the app would update automatically if opened during regular airtime. The UI/interactions would change dependent on whether the scenario was asynchronous or synchronous.

Accenture Digital Pensions

Accenture’s public sector group identified exciting opportunities within the realm of Public Pensions, and needed a strategic designer to help bring their ideas to fruition. Starting with only an inkling of what public employees and government users would need, I designed prototypes that helped the team pitch their concepts and land large contracts.

As the sole designer, I created the State of Michigan’s very first pensions management mobile app, which enabled employees to conduct myriad self-service activities to manage their pensions, health benefits, and retirement applications. This was an extremely complex project that involved working with multiple development teams and various functions within Accenture and within the State of Michigan. I provided end-to-end research, information architecture and design support.

Large-scale Cloud Asset Management Platform

A large, high-profile consultancy brought me on board to help with the redesign of a very complex platform used to manage cloud estates for Fortune 100 companies. Think of when Systems Admins had to spin up, provision, maintain and manage thousands of software licenses, hardware assets and network setups to support large enterprises. This is the same thing, but for assets that live in the cloud.

This platform is provider agnostic and enables users to manage estates across Azure, Oracle, AWS, etc. It provides functionality for everything from setting up new virtual machines to expenditure management & utilization optimization. I spearheaded the horizontal, holistic approach to streamlining the platform, operationalized design practices, and introduced end-to-end UCD & Research to the organization.
